Marshall L. Kinney

Age 82, of Bethel Park, passed away on March 19, 2015.  Devoted husband of his high school sweetheart Mary E. “Pat” Kinney for the last 57 years; loving father of Michael (Lynn), Patrick (Linda), Amy Kinney, Maureen Kinney and John (Angela) Kinney; grandfather of Jessica Dominiczak, Rachel, Megan, Caroline Kinney, and brother- in- law of Dorothy Martin (Donald).  He grew up in Barberton, Ohio where he excelled in all sports, but especially golf and equestrian jumping. Marshall’s father Basil owned a horse racing track and golf course where Marshall’s lifelong work ethic was established.  Marshall attended High School at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1954. After college, Marshall volunteered for military service and was deployed to Germany as a member of the US Army. In 1966, the Kinneys moved to Bethel Park, PA and rooted themselves in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Marshall worked in the steel industry, spending most of his professional career as the Director of Labor Relations for Jessop Steel in Washington, PA, where he retired in 1994. Beyond his commitment to family & work, Marshall was a complete physical fitness enthusiast. Never did a day pass when he was not working out. He was a daily fixture in South Park, making multiple laps up and down Corrigan Drive.  Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel, 5570 Library Rd. Bethel Park, PA 15102. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 23rd at 10:00am, at St. Germaine Church, 7003 Baptist Rd. Bethel Park, PA 15102. Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Peters Township.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 810 River Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
