Elizabeth P. (Horvath)
of Bethel park; born January 2, 1918, passed peacefully Monday morning, February 5, 2018; daughter of the late Stephen Horvath and Elizabeth Matus Horvath; sister of the late Stephen Horvath, John Horvath, Andrew Horvath, Anna Horvath Pugh, Mary Horvath Stoklosa, and Frances Horvath, Elizabeth just celebrated her 100 birthday last month.
Elizabeth was a very busy and active woman all her life. She was a licensed cosmetologist and loved traveling, baking, painting, writing, and learning. She was an avid gardener and served as the president of the Treehaven Garden Club in Bethel Park. Her faith was very important to her and she was a member of St. Valentines Church.
Elizabeth was a 51-year cancer survivor. She was married to the late David W. Pirrung, a World War II veteran, and is survived by her five children: David Pirrung (the late MaryAnn) of Lakewood, Colorado; Patricia Kral (Charles) of Bethel Park; Dennis Pirrung (Ruth) of Coraopolis, Robert Pirrung (Tamara) of Sutton, West Virginia; and Daniel Pirrung (Stella) of Lake Oswego, Oregon. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, 10 AM at St. Valentine Church. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
