Hyland, Clarice A. (Wheeler)
Clarice A. (Wheeler) Hyland, aged 72, of Columbus, OH and formerly of South Park, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Clarice Hyland was the daughter of the late Donald Wheeler and Anna Shaw and beloved wife of 56 years to James Hyland. Mrs. Hyland was the loving mother of James, John (Becky), Scott (Jennifer), and Steven (Lorraine) Hyland. Clarice Hyland was the cherished grandmother of Nathan, Nolan (Danielle), Scott (Katherine), Hannah, Brittany, Cameron, Josh, Matthew, Abigail, Briana, and Ryan. She was the great-grandmother of Donovan and Cecilia. She was the sister of Clyde Wheeler, Joan Legnine, and the late John Wheeler and is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Clarice’s life was one constant and outspoken display of the love of Jesus Christ. She had tremendous energy serving her family, neighbors, and her church (a member of Library Baptist Church for 25 years), and even strangers. She was active in her local YMCA and was also a member of the Red Hats Society. Clarice was the greatest cheerleader of her four boys. In a world of so much confusion, she knew and embraced her primary purposes in life: to be a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She was a strong-minded, dignified woman who apologized to no one for raising men to behave as men. She displayed child-like faith in Jesus Christ combined with a heavy portion of love for all people.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 – 4 PM & 6 – 8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park, where services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
