Merritt M. “Sarge”

Of Finleyville; age 81; peacefully passed away on Monday, October 02, 2017; husband of the late Mary A. Gill; loving father of Bonnie (Don) Wilson, Lois(Rich) Sowers, Kenneth(Kelly) Gill, the late Merritt M. Gill, Jr. and Robert(surviving wife, Terrie) Gill; loving companion of Dottie Timms;  brother of the late Walter J. Gill, Dante ”Tex” Gill and Donald Gill; also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Sarge retired from the US Air Force, he was a life member of the VFW Post 6664, Library and a regular member of the American Legion Post 760, Bethel Park. He also worked and retired from Sears in the HVACR Department.  Family and friends will be received Wednesday 6-8 PM and Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd. Bethel Park where a blessing service will be held Friday 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full Military Honors.  In his memory donations can be made to operationtroopappreciation.org.
