William Durning, Jr.,

Age 85, died in his home in Bethel Park on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

Bill was the owner of the plumbing contracting company, Mechanics, Inc. and was a member of Plumbers Local #27.  He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve.  In his later years, Bill worked as a crossing guard for the Bethel Park School District.

He was a Steelers fan and along with his wife of 63 years, Hilda (Babe) Durning, cheered for the Black & Gold as season ticket holders for many years.  They were also members of both South Hills Country Club and Highland Country Club. 

He is survived by his wife, Babe and his two daughters, Connie Durning & Karen (Stephen) Oles & grandchildren, Sean Patrick and William Michael Oles.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, September 27th at the Paul L. Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park, 15102, where a prayer service will be held Wednesday, 7 PM.
