William A. “Bill”
Age 97, of Bethel Park, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Beloved husband of 63 years to Georgiana (Barbarich) Knaus; loving father of Barbara K. Mistick, Anton W. Knaus, Deedra K. Knaus and Carole A. Knaus (Michael Grunberg); proud grandfather of Sloane (Taylor) Davidson, Victoria Mistick, Adriana Mistick, Nicholas Knaus and Molly Knaus Grunberg; great-grandfather of Felix Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton, Sr. and Leni Knaus and his brothers Oswald and Anton, Jr. “Tony” Knaus. Bill served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War, he was awarded two Bronze Stars for his service and reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the time of his discharge. He was the former owner of Colonial Taxi and Paratransit Services for 35 years, as well as various real estate holdings. As a life-long resident of Bethel Park, Bill touched many lives and will be missed by those who knew him for his wit, extensive knowledge on just about every topic imaginable and dedication to his community, friends and family. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-5 & 6-8 pm at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, 10 am at St. Valentine Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Bethel Park Historical Society, 2600 South Park Rd, Bethel Park, PA 15102, Bethel Park American Legion, Post 760, 2409 Bethel Church Rd, Bethel Park, PA 15102 OR the Bethel Park Veterans Memorial, 5100 W.
