Barbara Vaughan Obituary

Barbara Ann Vaughan (Badoian) - 93 died 8/28/2024 at St Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Formerly of Edinboro, PA, Born in Nashua, NH to Peter and Rose Badoian on 12/14/1930.

Married Wayland (Ted) Vaughan Sr for 41 years.

She was preceded in death by Wayland Vaughan Sr, who passed on 7/14/2000, as well as her 2 sisters, Elizabeth Denali’s and Virginia Linkovich and a brother, Martin Badoian.

Survived by sons Wayland Vaughan jr, John Michael (Jennifer)Vaughan, and Robert Vaughan all of Pittsburgh and Richard (Shelly) of Port Matilda, PA.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Wayland III, Leanne, Ryan, Samantha, Emma, and Colton Vaughan.

 

Barbara was a member of St Augustine Episcopal Church in Edinboro, Pa.  

 

In her early years, she worked at the Nashua corporation, where she met Ted.  After moving a number of times, they finally settled in Edinboro to raise their 4 boys.  Barbara spent many years working in the family restaurant business and taking care of her boys as they grew, including being a Den mother for scouts and attending many sporting events to cheer them on.  

 

In 1987, at the age of 56, Barbara started her college career at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, graduating in 1992 with a degree in English.  She proceeded to work in the Erie County Library system for a number of years before retiring.

 

Services will be held at future date at the convenience of the family.

 

Memorial donations may be made "in memory of Barbara Vaughan (Badoian)" to the National Association of the Deaf at www.nad.org.
