Carol Waychoff

Carol S. Waychoff, 82, of South Park, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

She was born in Pittsburgh on February 20, 1943, to the late Harry and Lorien Shappacher.

Carol was the loving wife to James M. Waychoff, who she married on November 11, 1967, and spent 58 years together until passing on the morning of their anniversary; the beloved Mother to Matthew (Carla), Adam (Beth), and Joshua Waychoff; devoted grandmother to Nathaniel, Isaac, Rachel, Ryder, Cadence, Cooper, and Christine Waychoff; and bonus Mom to Wesley (Kim) Cranmer, her “son 2.5”.

She loved her pets; two cats, two gerbils, goldfish, and her loving wildlife creatures that surrounded the beautiful home built in the woods by her husband.

Carol taught modeling school in her younger years and modeled for the Dodge Boys Car Shows downtown Pittsburgh.  

Carol was a beloved Preschool Teacher to many students over her 37-year career until earning her retirement.

Carol loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren.  She always considered herself and family richly blessed. She spread her love for the Lord and the Lord's love to all she met, making most "Family". She went out of her way to help at the church taking pure joy with the children. Carol was known to be an excellent cook, always making sure you never left hungry.  Her love of owls and antiquing makes for wonderful collections.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

A Viewing and Memorial Service will be held at Crossroads Ministries, 81 Walter Long Rd, on Saturday, November 22, 2025.  Viewing will be 1-3 pm with the service at 3 pm.  Food will follow the service if you wish to stay. 

Interment will be in a mausoleum in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
