Dario Lorenzi passed away peacefully on April 28, 2020. Born in Pittsburgh on August 8th, 1930, he lived his life in the city of Pittsburgh, on Mt. Washington, and in the South Hills. Dario was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Duquesne University. His college career was interrupted by his military call to the Korean Conflict. He served as a sergeant in the US Army where he was stationed in Europe. Upon returning to Pittsburgh, his entire work career was spent at the Koppers Corporation working in Transportation and Sales. He is predeceased by Barbara, his wife and love of his life, who passed away in August of 2018. Dario and Barbara raised a beautiful family of seven children. They were also the very proud and loving grandparents of 16 grandchildren and great grandparents to 7 great grandchildren. Anyone who knew Dario for either most of his life or for just a short time knew of his intense devotion to our Lord and commitment to his Catholic faith. It is no exaggeration to say that Dario attended Mass not only daily, but sometimes two or three times a day for 65 years. No vacation, travel, illness or numerous heart attacks came before the importance of the Mass in his life. He very generously shared his knowledge of his faith to everyone he could reach. As a man of modest means raising a large family, his generosity to the poor, through faith-based charities, was phenomenal throughout the decades of his life. Dario is survived by his seven children; David Lorenzi, Donna Baccari(Rick), Doreen Sorensen(Niles), Daria Lorenzi, Doris Kauffelt(Mike), Barbie Lorenzi, and Mary Beth Zelt(Roger). His children could not imagine a man of Dario’s lifelong faithful devotion to be buried without a Catholic funeral Mass. The Lord has blessed Dario and his family with a lifting of restrictions that will allow a final Mass with a few family members in attendance. In lieu of flowers, when able, the family of Dario asks for masses for Dario to be purchased through your local parish church. Services handled by Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park.
