David L Lemley, Sr.

David L. Lemley Sr., 29 (72), of Bethel Park, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of David Lemley Sr., beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on November 16, 2024. David was born on March 25, 1952, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1970.

David was a man of many passions and talents, always with a smile on his face and a kind word to share. He was known for his love of music, especially oldies and doowop, which he would listen to on his trusty transistor radio. His music collection was just one reflection of his vibrant spirit and joyful nature. He could often be heard saying, “Going to Cleveland!” or “Down the road,” and no matter the journey, he made it an adventure, even if it was just a short drive.

As a DJ, David, also known as "DJ Krazy Dave," brought joy to many on the airwaves at WEEP Radio Station, as well as at Charlie’s Place, Duke’s Station, Weddings, Walt’s Tavern, and The Theme Lounge. He had a gift for making any event memorable, whether it was a wedding or a youth baseball game, where he also lent his voice as an announcer. His deep love for the community extended to his involvement at South Hills Assembly of God Church, where he shared his faith and commitment to others. David was 2016 Coach of the Year and served as a Quiz Master, for Bible Quiz competitions, touching many lives with his devotion to both family and faith.

David's career in car sales took him to Benson Lincoln and Charapp Auto Group, where he was known for his integrity and personable nature. His heart, however, was most full during the holidays, especially Christmas, when he would joyfully share his catchphrase: "And I heard him explain as he drove out of site, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!" His family and friends will forever cherish his warmth and the way he made everyone feel special.

David is survived by his mother, Anna Mae (Headlee), children, Shaun (Carie), Lisa, Kevin (Melissa), Kimmi, David Jr., and Joey; his grandchildren, Victoria, McKenzie, Angelina, Gianni, Taylor, Olivia, Parker, and Weston; his sister Debbie Kroll (Tom); his nephew Brian and nieces, Shawna and Donna; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lemley.

David’s legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his joyful presence, his love of music, and his devotion to his faith and family.

A memorial service to honor David’s life will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 21, 2024, a service will start at 6 PM at Paul Henny Funeral Home, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.
