Delano Rose Hudy, born December 10, 1932, in Logan, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025.
Born to the late Emmert R. Ellis and Sarah Lou Ellis, Delano grew up in a large and loving family as one of fourteen children, all of whom have preceded her in death.
Delano married and moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she became a devoted wife and mother. She had previously worked at the Logan Theatre and later at the Logan County Courthouse before dedicating herself fully to raising her family. She loved her home, her children, and her church, and she lived her life with quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering faith.
Delano loved the Lord and shared that love through song. She was always singing around the house, filling her home with music. She had a beautiful voice and was often asked to sing at weddings. She was a proud and original member of the Whitehall Church of Christ, where she worshiped for more than fifty years.
She is survived by her children John Hudy, Jane Babinger, and Lee McCracken; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom she deeply loved.
Viewings will be held on Thursday, December 4th, from 6-8 pm at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tribute in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and Saturday, December 6th, from 12-1pm at Evan’s Funeral Home in Champmanville, West Virginia with Funeral services to follow at 1pm. Interment will follow in her hometown of Logan, West Virginia at Highland Memory Gardens. She will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her family and all who knew her.
