Dolores Graney Obituary

Dolores M. Graney, 97, of Bethel Park, loving, kind and faith filled, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, with her family by her side.

Dolores was the loving wife to Norbert J. Graney for 65 years, until his passing on November 7, 2016. Devoted Mom to Mary Ellen (Eric) Barringer, Maureen (Dan) Polaski, Thomas (Terri) Graney, Kathleen (Steve) Brandt, Peggy Graney, and Colleen (Ed) Keller; grandmother to 11and great-grandmother to 26 and beloved sister to Barbara Truel and the late Thomas Truel, Regis Truel, Robert Truel and Joan Noak.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially her Godson Bob Truel and her dear cousin Pat Malloy.

Catholic by faith, Dolores was a devout member of Saint Anne Church – St. Paul of the Cross Parish for greater than 70 years.  She had a great devotion to our Blessed Mother and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The only thing she loved more than candy (thank you Sarris!) was her love of God and her family.  She was very proud of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's professional, academic and sport accomplishments.  When she could no longer go to the theater to see them dance, sing or act or go to their sporting events she loved to hear about them and always said a prayer for a good performance (or of course a win!)

Before she lost her hearing music was a very important part of her life.  She had the radio on all the time and would sing along to her favorite songs.  What a Wonderful World was her favorite and oh how wonderful it was with her in this world.

She wrapped us all in warmth and comfort with the blankets she crotched and the beautiful dresses she made for her granddaughters when they were small and even a Christmas sweater for Tom!

She loved to laugh and her smile and sparkling blue eyes could light up a room.

For more years than anyone can remember Sunday dinner at her house was love on a plate.

Many thanks to the nurses and personal care attendants at The Grand Residence who went above and beyond in her last days to make her feel comfortable and well taken care of.   Also, many thanks to Father Michael Caridi who pastored her so beautifully in her final days and helped her to make her spiritual journey home.

Family & friends will be received on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd, Bethel Park.
