R. Donald “Don” Coleman
Of South Park; age 82; passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025; son of the late Joseph D. Coleman and the late Marceline Vogel; beloved husband of 56 years to Norma (Fink) Coleman; loving father of Darrell (Melissa) Coleman, Julie (Scott) Staroschuck and Kevin (Michelle) Coleman; cherished grandfather of Katie and Chelsea Staroschuck, Alexander, Benjamin and Sophia Coleman; brother of the late Joseph F. Coleman; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Don had lots of hobbies that included fishing, gardening, card playing, storytelling, avid camper, raftsman, bicyclist, car enthusiast, fish breeder, dedicated Pirates and Steelers Fan, he loved puzzles, and he had the best little dogs. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and a retiree from Bell Telephone (Verizon) where he worked for 30 years. He started out as a cable man where he developed lifelong friends. He eventually moved inside and finished his career as a technician. His Irish Catholic heritage was important to him to the very end. His greatest love was his family; he was a loving husband to his wife, proud father to each of his children and a doting grandfather to each of his grandchildren attending their performances and sporting events. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd, Bethel Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, 10 AM at St. John XXIII Parish/St. Francis of Assisi Church, 3609 Washington Ave. Finleyville, PA 15332. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the Passionist Nuns Pittsburgh, 2715 Churchview Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
