Donna Jean Spencer
Of Cranberry Twp. ended her battle with Alzheimer’s January 9, 2022, at Paramount Senior Living in Cranberry Twp. She was the only child of Don and Elizabeth Murray of Bethel Park. Born August 29, 1946, she grew up in Bethel Park with loving parents. Donna “Jake” attended Bethel Park High School and graduated proudly with the class of 1964. She then attended Allegheny General School of Nursing where she excelled in nurse training while spending time in Detroit, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. After training under many doctors and specialists, she accepted an RN nursing position at St. Clair Memorial Hospital. Throughout her nursing career, Jake worked in Gastroenterology, the IV Team, and Case Management Review. During her career, she went back to college and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. At age 13 while pursuing her interest in horses, Jakie met her husband and life-time partner Ron Spencer. Their early romance blossomed into a marriage on July 26, 1968. Ron and Jake were dedicated to each other and spent their time together showing horses, racing cars, following High School wrestling, RV camping, and traveling. They raised two children (Clay & Drew) and enjoyed six grandchildren. They celebrated 53 years of a loving marriage this year. Donna is survived by her husband Ron, children Clay Spencer (fiancé Kim Kasper) of Cranberry Twp. and Drew Spencer (wife Kate) of McCandless and grandchildren Corey, Brock, Cole, Brody, Gracie and Rowan. Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 11th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd. Bethel Park, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 12th at 11 am. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org
