Dorothy “Dottie” Gire, 89, of Bethel Park, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024.
She was born on April 19, 1935, to Raymond and Sophie Kienzl in Pittsburgh.
Loving mother of Linda (Deacon) Dhanse, John (Linda) McMahon, and Janice (David) Sypherd; and grandmother to Zachary (Lindsey) Masson, Caleb (Allie) Masson, Sara (Stephen) Arnold, Carly (Mike) Moore, John (Ashley) McMahon, Dylan (Shannon) Sypherd, Jacob McMahon, and Cory McMahon; and great-grandmother of four.
Dottie enjoyed staying active into her eighties with golf and bowling, even earning medals in the Senior Olympics. She was a bowling instructor and was inducted into the US Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 1991. She also had a talent for writing poetry. She enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends, and always had a puzzle in progress on her dining room table.
Dottie was a woman of faith and loved attending church at Christ United Methodist Church.
Family and friends will gather at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 3-7pm. Following the gathering, a funeral service will be accorded directly after at 7pm.
Interment will be private at Jefferson Cemetery.
