Earl H Brown, Sr, of Bethel Park, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born February 8, 1925 in Watertown, NY and graduated from Vocational High School in Syracuse, NY in January 1943. He turned 18 in February 1943, signed up for the draft in March 1943, and was inducted in the Army in April 1943. He wanted to learn to fly and serve in the Army Air Corps, was tested and accepted. After graduating from Flight Training School he was told the Army needed ground forces for the invasion of Europe. That is when he was transferred into the infantry and served in WWII from April 1943 until March of 1946 as a part of the 103rd Infantry Division. After the war he went to Syracuse University on the GI Bill and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After several careers moves, he and his family settled in Bethel Park, PA in 1959. In 1978 he accomplished his life-long dream to fly and earned his private pilot’s license. He finished his career with Westinghouse Nuclear Division and retired in 1986. After retiring he took up running to maintain his health and completed his first half-marathon in 1996 at the age of 71. He was an active member and trustee of VFW Post 6664 and a Past Master of Bethel Masonic Lodge 761. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Edna, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by a son Earl H Brown, Jr (Peggy) of Bethel Park, PA and a daughter Cheryll A. Renshaw of Laporte, PA, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday, March 27th from 4 – 8 pm at the Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Inc, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park. PA where a prayer service will be held Saturday, 7:00 pm. A masonic and military service will be announced on funeral home website. Internment Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
