Edward J. “Ed” Zamecnik, 80, of South Park, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024.
He was born on February 7, 1944, to the late Edward R. and Rita F. (Vietmeier) Zamecnik.
Ed was the beloved husband to Jan (Spring) for 50 years and the loving father to Patty (Terry) Brown and Eddie Zamecnik. Devoted grandfather to Adam, Jonathon (Melissa), and Sadie (fiancé, Colin) Pisarcik, Ryan, Maddie, and Addy Brown; and had three great grandchildren. Brother to Sally (Gary) Kuhn, John (Wendy) Zamecnik, the late Jeannie Zamecnik, and Rita (Mark) Pail; loving Uncle to several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law to the late Joyce (the late Jim) McMonagle, the late Frank Spring, Jackie (Craig) Grecco, and Jude (Brian) Gallagher.
Ed graduated from South High, and afterwards started working for Rohrich Cadillac. He then went on to build a successful career with Allstate as an Insurance Adjuster for 31 years until his retirement.
He was proud of his long-standing membership at the Jugo-Slav Club and the American Legion #760.
Ed enjoyed an early retirement where he played golf with the guys and snow-birding with Jan in Florida.
Ed & Jan loved many years of league bowling and cheering for the Steelers!
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd, Bethel Park, on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 1-3pm. At 3pm, a Memorial Service will be offered in Ed’s honor.
Donations can be made in Ed's name to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
