Gloria J Tracy

Gloria June Tracy (nee Learn), long time resident of Bethel Park, passed peacefully and surrounded by family on February 17, 2023, at the age of 94.

Born in 1928 in Olean, NY, daughter of the late John and Laura Learn, beloved wife of 54 years to the late William J. Tracy; loving mother of William (Edelle) Tracy lll, Bruce (Donita) Tracy, and Barbara (David) Decker. Sister of the late Betty Case and John Learn, sister-in-law of JoAnn Aiken and the late Joan Learn.

Cherished Grandmother of Shannon (Robert) Cagna, Aaron Kloc, Rebecca (Erez) Rotem, Tracy (Brandon) Baird, Melinda Tracy, and David Jake Decker, and took great joy from her Great Grandchildren; Ilan, Noah, and Lila Rotem, Aiden Cagna, Decker, Bennett, and Ainsley Baird. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and a wonderful neighbor, Pat Kaczmarek.

Gloria received her Registered Nursing degree from Buffalo General Hospital in 1950, and worked as a nurse at Point Park College, then spent many years as a private duty nurse. She also volunteered for hospice. She was a wonderful, compassionate caregiver to her family, friends, and patients. She and her “Cookie Ladies” enjoyed making countless cookies for Meals on Wheels, she was a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, involved in PTA, and Band Boosters.

A longtime member of Christ Methodist Church, Gloria was also an active member of Bethel Woman’s Club, serving as President twice. She was an avid Bridge player and belonged to several Bridge clubs. She was sharp as a tack, doing New York Time’s crossword daily puzzles (in ink!), a spelling Queen Bee, and a champ at Scrabble.

Friends and Family will be received at Paul Henney Funeral Home, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park, PA, 15102 on Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with a service starting at 7:00 pm.
