Irma M Ponzo

Irma M. (Alfare) Ponzo of Bethel Park, age 97, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Irma was born and raised in Golling, Austria as the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Alfare. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to Louis A. Ponzo, Sr.; loving mother of Bruce (Heberilda) Ponzo and Lou Ponzo, Jr.; proud grandma of Megan (Tim) Johnston and Lou “Louie” (Nikki) Ponzo, III; great grandmother of Amelia; sister of the late Louise and Joseph “Uncle Peppe”; also survived by nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 18th  from 2-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park.  Irma was a vibrant lady and maintained a deep connection to her Austrian roots.  An outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking, biking, and skiing, she will be remembered for her love of the mountains, never taking off her sunglasses, and famous “bent cookies”.
