Janet Matera

Janet A. Matera, 74, of Bethel Park, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. 

She was born on April 21, 1950, in Pittsburgh to Albert Schanck and Mary Dolores Kline. 

On November 23, 1973, Janet married her loving husband James (Jim) Matera, who survives. They were able to celebrate 50 loving years of marriage. 

Also surviving are her children, Maria and Justin Matera; a sister, Jean Hughey; and two nephews, David Hughey and Donnie Morgan.

Janet is preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Morgan. 

She loved making jewelry and crafting, especially her stitching crafts. Janet was an amazing wife and mother; she knew how to make a delicious meal for her family and make their house a home. 

Friends & Family will gather at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 5-7pm. A funeral service will occur following visiting hours, at 7pm.
