Jean Scheeser Obituary

Of Bethel Park; age 93 passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Jean was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Helen (Amrhein) Becker, and beloved wife of 70 years of the late Donald O. Scheeser.

Jean was the loving mother of Donna (William) Bird, Gary (Grace) Scheeser, Karen (William) Kuskil, and Ronald (Jane) Scheeser.  She was the most cherished Nana of Andrew (Jamie) Kuskil, Scott (Kaitlin) Scheeser, Olivia (Jonathan) Kelly, Alan (Laura) Kuskil, Sarah (Jason) Bialek, Allison (Brandon) Nicholson.

Most proud great-grandmother of Brandon and Amelia Kelly, Aubrielle Nicholson, Margot and Dean Kuskil, Brees and Capri Bialek, and Luke, Claire and Audrey Jean Scheeser.

Jean was the dearest sister of Helen Hixson and sister-in-law, Rose Becker, the late Paul Becker, Margaret Hoebler and Richard Becker.

Jean graduated from St. Francis Academy and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as a dedicated registered nurse at Mercy Hospital throughout her career.  She was a member of St. Valentines Christian Mothers and Bethel Park Women’s Club.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and vacationing in Siesta Key, FL, Emerald Isle, NC and Stone Harbor, NJ.

Jean was a woman of deep faith, a devout Catholic and the model of a Godly life.

Jean’s greatest joy was found in being with her beloved Don, her children and grandchildren.  She loved her trips with family to the ocean.  She was always the first to lend a hand, offer a kind word, a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek…..thus her nickname, “the kissing bandit”.  With her twinkling blue eyes, she brought joy and so much love to her family, and was a lady to the end.  She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday 2-5 & 6-8 PM at Paul Henney Memorial Chapel, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, 10 AM at Resurrection Parish/St. Thomas More Church.  In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, http://www.svdppitt.org/donate  or Gallagher Hospice, 1370 Washington Pike, Suite 401B, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
