Joanne J. (Sippel) Salvetti of Washington (Bethel Park) PA passed away in the early morning hours of July 3, 2023 at the home she shared with her daughter, Laura A. (Salvetti) Pallone and son-in-law, Rick.
A daughter of the late Ernest F. and June L. (Griffith) Sippel, she was born on November 30, 1946. Joanne is survived by a beloved sister, Janice and a brother Donald; her only child, Laura; three grandchildren, Rachelle Gish-Johnson (Andy), Kristina Barr (Jeffrey) and William Faherty; as well as four great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Liberty, Arlo and June.
Her grandchildren gave her such great joy and pride. She was an assistant Girl Scout Leader, loved camping, building the fire, and cook outs with the girls. She never missed any of the kids’ softball or soccer games and was very active and fun loving. Everyone knew Grandma Joanne. She baked their birthday cakes and special treats and enjoyed preparing a holiday meal with everyone around her. She continued to bake Christmas cookies sending them to friends and family all around the country.
Joanne was a devoted member of Ruthfred Lutheran Church and her Faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior brought her strength and peace. She taught Sunday school and volunteered at Vacation Bible School every summer. Joanne was a member of the Altar Guild, Craft & Sew, the Fellowship Breakfast Committee, and so many other groups. A great amount of her time was spent in the church kitchen, supervising and organizing countless lunches and events. She was “the Queen of the kitchen”.
Joanne’s faith, courage and love of us all will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed.
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life, O Lord. ~Psalm 119:50
