John Kraves

Age 93, of Bethel Park passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 surrounded by loving family.  He was a devoted husband to the late Rosemarie “Sis” (Mahr) and before that to the late Mary Angel (Perri).  He was an amazing father to his five children, Catherine (Edward) Schenck, Mary Kay (Scott) Drummond, Donna (Brian) Cahill, John Kraves and Anna Marie (William) Newcomer; and a very proud grandparent to 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.  John was a Navy veteran during World War II and was an active member of St. Valentine’s Church for more than 50 years.  He worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at Woodville State Hospital before he retired.  John was lucky to have many happy years of retirement, during which he was able to pursue his love of horseshoes, where he won many local and state championships, and was able to travel to many places visiting his relatives and friends.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-8 pm at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd. Bethel Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, 10 am at St. Valentine Catholic Church.  Interment with military honors will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disable Veterans, www.dav.org
