Joseph Delaney Obituary

Joseph V Delaney

Of Bethel Park: age 75; passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022.  Beloved husband of the late Patricia A. Delaney; loving “Pops” to Marjorie (the late John) Mills and R. Martin “Marty” (Kelly) Zigmond; brother of Bill Delaney (Ruth Ann); brother-in-law of Mary Stone and Carl Smith; uncle to many nephews and nieces; cherished fiancé of Linda Reick.

Joe was a decorated Marine veteran who served during the Vietnam War Era.  He retired after 33 years from the Transportation Department of the Bethel Park School District as a school bus mechanic and driving instructor.  Joe enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the Meadows (where he was generally very lucky), Friday night Wine Nights and his life with Linda for the last 12 years.

Family and Friends will be received Friday, May 20th  at 11:00am at First Bethel United Methodist Church, 5901 Library Road in Bethel Park, PA where a service will begin at 12 noon.

Immediately following, a committal service with full military honors will be held at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  We must be at the cemetery at 1:15pm.  The procession will be led by the Patriot Guard Riders. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org or the Patriot Guard Riders, patriotguard.org or your favorite charity.
