Joseph Michael Rago, born on January 15, 1957, left this world on December 4, 2023, at the age of 66. Joey was a cherished brother to Andrea O'Donnell, Michael (Lynn) Rago, Elena (Tom) Lupinetti, as well as Karen (Don) McElhaney. Beloved by his nieces and nephews, his family was a source of joy and strength throughout his life.
A devoted sports enthusiast, especially for Pitt football and Liverpool soccer, Joseph brought infectious passion to every aspect of his life. With a career dedicated to the Allegheny County Family Court System, he positively impacted the lives of many before retiring to Port Charlotte, Florida.
In his retirement, Joseph found joy in simple pleasures—a cigar while fishing in the canal, enjoying your company during a round of golf or his unconditional love for Precious and Stella, his canine companions. And we all found joy being with Joey. Renowned for having the best laugh, his infectious humor warmed every room. With a truly kind soul, he touched the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark.
As we bid farewell, let's remember the laughter, kindness, and love he freely shared. Joseph Rago's absence will be felt, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those touched by his warmth. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the echoes of the simple joys that defined his beautiful life.
