Of Oakdale; formerly of McMurray, PA; age 68; passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022; loving father of Kate Matthews(Jon Tai); husband of Virginia Matthews; son of the late Robert and Marie Matthews; brother of Dick Matthews (wife Virginia), Bill Matthews (wife Sue), Jim Matthews (wife Cindy) and sister Jan Matthews; also survived by many nieces and nephews; Ken graduated from Peters Twp. High School, where he participated in Track & Fields events and wrestled. He received his bachelor's degree from IUP.  During the summer of his college years, he had his own grass cutting business.   Shortly after graduating from college, he began his career at CB Mining where he eventually retired after many years. He enjoyed the outdoors; hiking, camping, white water rafting and kayaking.   A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 4th, 11 AM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes.   Donations may be made to Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
