Mae F. (Shelley) Wetzel, 83, of South Park, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025.
Mae was born in Pittsburgh on November 1, 1941, to the late Ralph and Mary Shelley.
She was the loving wife to Kenneth R. Wetzel, Sr., for 58 years. Devoted mother to Cynthia (Robert, Sr.) Sharkey and Kenneth R. (Stacey) Wetzel, Jr. Dedicated grandma to Robert Jr., and Justin Sharkey, and Malana and Marco Wetzel.
Mae was a Medical Technician for over 30 years, retiring from Asbury Heights.
She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, walking, reading, cooking, and oldies dancing. Mae loved sitting on the back deck and watching the Penguins hockey games with her husband. She also relished spending time with her cherished pets and on the beaches of Boston with her beloved late sister, Dolores.
Family and friends will gather at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mae’s honor to the Washington Area Humane Society, where Mae frequently volunteered by walking the dogs there.
