Marie (McCridden) Burke

Of Bethel Park; age 91; passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024; daughter of the late Edward “Thomas” and Marie McCridden; beloved wife of the late Martin Burke; loving mother of Christopher(Janet) Burke, Suzanne(Kevin) Brown and Daniel Burke; cherished grandmother of Kathleen(Stephen) Scheerer, Daniel C Burke, Andrew(Elisha) Brown, Colleen Brown, Ian Brown and Jaden Burke; great grandmother of Colin Scheerer. Marie attended Mt. Lebanon schools and graduated from Chestnut Hill College.  She had a short career as a teacher at St. Anne’s in Castle Shannon, before having children. When younger, Marie played in several different summer and winter tennis leagues, and was a member and officer of bowling leagues well into her Golden years.  Summers were often spent with family and friends in the mountains at Deer Valley and by the water at Carolina Beach.  She enjoyed time spent with her friends at the South Hills pool during summers, and was well known in the neighborhood for her collie dogs over the years.

Family and friends will be received Thursday 4-6 PM and Friday 6-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, 10 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park.  Marie will be interred at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
