Martha Parks Brown Kanagy, age 81, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born on April 17, 1939 in Beaver Falls, PA; daughter of the late John and Anna Parks; sister of Miriam (Tom) Bickerton, David (Ida Mae) Parks, and Lois (the late Jim) Slocum; Beloved wife of 49 years to the late E. DeWayne Kanagy; loving mother of David Brown, the late Lori (surviving her husband, Josh) Dabney of Melbourne, FL, John Kanagy of Newark, OH, Scott Kanagy of West Mifflin, PA, Ryan (Amy) Kanagy of Philadelphia, PA, and Vicki (Ezell) Lindsey of Loxahatchee, FL; survived by 11 grandchildren. She was raised in Beaver Falls, PA and moved to Bethel Park, PA in 1970. She would spend the rest of her life there. Martha had a degree in computer programming from Computers Systems Institute. She worked at Mellon Bank as a Systems Analyst for 23 years. She was hard working and dedicated to her job. She was a fantastic mother and grandmother. She spent several years as a Girl Scout leader and attending her kids’ various activities. She loved music, reading, and spending time with family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00am at Ruthfred Lutheran Church in Bethel Park, PA. Arrangements handled by Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park.
