Mary Sharon Kotula Obituary

Mary Sharon (Harshman) Kotula

Of South Park; passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 6, 2025 on her 73rd birthday; special daughter of the late William and Marjorie Harshman; devoted wife of 34 years to the late Robert J. Kotula; adoring mother of Amy(Chad) Reilly and Kelly(Nick) Shriver; cherished Mimi of Lily and Mia Reilly, Brody and Ruby Shriver; loving sister of Richard(Scheryl) Harshman, Maureen(Mark) Ventura and the late William “Billy” Harshman; beloved aunt of Jeffrey, Jamie, Kevin, Kaitlyn, Dirk, Lisa and their spouses and families. Sharon devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed hosting family and holiday dinners, creating memories on family vacations, continuing special traditions that made everyone feel loved and, most of all, she adored her grandchildren, attending all their events and doing special things with them. She had a magic about her to turn things from ordinary into extraordinary. She was a warm and thoughtful person, always caring and asking about others.  She loved to get to know people and took a genuine interest in them. Sharon strived to provide her family with the strong, loving support she always felt her parents provided her and her siblings. She was a proud 1970 graduate of Canevin Catholic High School and a strong woman of faith. After marrying the love of her life, Bob, in 1974, they enjoyed many happy times, going on dates in Bob’s Corvette and listening to the Jaggerz. She loved living in South Park, raising her family in a special neighborhood with many friends and caring neighbors, tending to her flowers and relaxing on her patio. Sharon’s light and love touched the lives of all that knew her.  She will be loved and deeply missed by all her family but they will be forever comforted and guided by her warm, caring spirit and the countless cherished memories.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday 5-8 PM and Thursday 5-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, 10:30 am St. Louise de Marillac Church, Upper St. Clair.
