Michael Landon Obituary

Michael Samuel Landon, 78, of South Park, passed away unexpectedly during his battle with cancer, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at home. 

 

Beloved husband to Celia “Sis” (Valentine) Landon, whom he married on March 26, 1967. They just celebrated 58 loving years together. Devoted father to Valerie (Phillip) Dixon, Brian (Lori) Landon, Keith Landon, Tiffany (Michael Suprak) Smith-Suprak, and the late Michael S. Landon, Jr. Grandpa to David, Phillip, Jade, Jacob, Travis, A.J., Ericka, Celia “C.J.”, and Noah; Michael is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. 

 

Michael was United States Navy Veteran. He was a First-Class Petty Officer, rank E-6. During his time in the service, Michael was a Nuclear Engineer, serving as a Nuclear Reactor Operator and was stationed on the USS John Adams, which he took pride in.  

 

He was also proud of his accomplishments as a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a free and accepted Mason (past Master), an active member of the Dallas Lodge No. 231, in Pittsburgh. 

 

Following his time in the service, Michael went on to continue his career as an Engineer in the Electrical Engineering field. He was employed as a Test Engineer. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael’s honor to any Colon Cancer research organization of your choice. 

 

Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be accorded for Michael at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 1:30 pm. Afterwards, a celebration of Michael and his son, Brian's, life, will be held at 2050 Buffalo Drive, South Park, PA 15129. (the Home Economics Building next to the Police Station) between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Friday, July 25, 2025.
