Patrick Owen “PD” Dougherty

Of Bethel Park; age 77; passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 7, 2025; son of the late John and Mary Dougherty; loving husband of 43 years to Judy(Kragnes) Dougherty; beloved father of Patrick(Michelle) Dougherty and Brian ”Hawk”(Tricia) Dougherty; proud grandfather of Candace, Chelsea, Brian, Jr., Nathan, Rhylen, Patrick, Jr. ; great grandfather of William, Kinsley and Charlie; also survived by step grandchildren, Dean and McKennah; brother of the late Judy and Peggy; brother in law of Ron(Maryann), Danny(Linda), Sandy(Butch), Maria(the late Tim), Dale(Kathie), Lori and the late Alann; son in law of the late Alfred and Anna Marie Kragnes; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Pat was a devoted and hardworking individual who spent many years employed at AJ Demore Plumbing before continuing his career at WG Tomko, where he eventually retired. A longtime resident of Bethel Park, Pat was deeply involved in his community through his love of sports.

He was passionate about softball, basketball, and baseball—not only as a player but also as a coach and umpire. Pat played a vital role in managing and running the Bethel Park Men’s Softball League, where he found great joy playing alongside his sons. His commitment to youth sports extended to Girls Softball, where he remained an active coach and supporter.

Even in retirement, Pat stayed active and connected. You could often find him walking at Bethel Recreation or through South Park, greeting familiar faces.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family would like to thank Artis Senior Living Staff in Bethel Park for the care they gave to Pat. 

Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM on Friday, September 12th at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, September 13th, 10:30 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 6414 Montour St, South Park, PA 15129
