Ralph Litzenburger, age 94, passed away suddenly on October 30, 2025, at home with his beloved wife Karen by his side.
Born June 30, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA, Ralph was the son of Bertha and Ralph Litzenburger. A lifelong resident of the community, he graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1950 and soon after enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Ralph served with distinction and saw combat during the Korean War and retired after 29 years of honorable service as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
Following his military career, Ralph took over his father’s painting business and later continued his dedication to public service by joining the Bethel Park Police Department. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant and was proud to attend the FBI Academy during his tenure. After retiring from the force, Ralph co-founded a successful security business.
In the early 1970s, Ralph became an active member of the Masonic and Shriner communities. He lived a life rooted in service, integrity, and compassion. His commitment to the values of brotherhood and charity was evident in all he did—from his work in the lodge to his generous spirit in everyday life.
Ralph was married for many years to his first wife, Imogene, with whom he lovingly raised four children: Ralph (Syd) Litzenburger, Karen (the late Joe) Bianco, Nancy (Kevin) Bandi, and Jill (Doug) Davis. After Imogene’s passing, Ralph married Karen (Cox), who survives him. Together, they shared 34 joyful years filled with travel, motorcycle adventures, golfing, and time spent living in Daytona Beach, FL.
Ralph is also survived by his four children, nine grandchildren: Joseph, Stephanie (Patrick), Maggie (Fred), the late Jacob, Matthew (Alexis), Emily (Sean), Taylor (Jerry), Heather (Tom), Jeffrey (Laura), and Michael, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene, and grandson, Jacob.
Ralph will be remembered for his lifelong dedication to service, his deep love for family, and his unwavering commitment to community and country. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and the values he upheld. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4-7 PM, a Masonic service will be at 6:30 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park. Funeral service will be held on Monday, 11 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church, 5303 Madison Ave., Bethel Park. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery with Military Honors.
