Richard A. Davies, 78, of Bethel Park, PA passed away on July 19, 2026.
He was born in Pittsburgh on July 13, 1948, the son of the late William A. Davies and Emily E. Welsh Davies.
Richard graduated from Monessen High School in 1966. He went on to attend Cal State University.
He joined the Army in April 1968. He became a pilot by attending various military schools and later served overseas in Vietnam from 1971 to 1972. He was active duty for 5 years and spent 21 years in the National Guard and Reserves.
Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy Govier Davies; three children, W. Richard (Karin) Davies, Michael R. (Heather) Davies, Jeffrey A. (Christine) Davies; three grandchildren, Justin Davies, Ivy (Payne) Ross, Michael Davies; two sisters, Elizabeth (Louis) Rettura and Kathy (Edward) Bartosik; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother, Robert Davies.
Family and Friends will be received on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 4 to 8 PM in Paul Henney Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park, where a funeral service will be held Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, Animal Friends, or make a blood donation to the American Red Cross.
