Richard H. Opferman, Jr.

Of South Park, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 83.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Rita Opferman; loving father of Richard "Rick" Opferman and Darla Opferman; proud Pap Pap of Lauryn (Thryceton) and Blake; cherished great-grandfather of Beckett. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (Domenico) Folino, as well as many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Leona Opferman, Sr., and his brother, Edward Opferman.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. A hardworking and dedicated businessman, he started his own company, Opferman Construction in the 1980s. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 31, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1, at 12:30 PM at St. Anne Church, Castle Shannon. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00 PM at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
