Robert Bako Obituary

Robert A Bako, age 93, of Bethel Park, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Born on July 14, 1931,  almost a century of immeasurable love for family and life, finally weakened the heart of this amazing man. The son of Louis Bako and Julia Poklemba Bako, ‘Bob’ as he was known, was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Rosemary six months earlier, brother Louis Bako, sister Margaret Adamcik, daughters in law Rosie Bako and Susan Bako, nephew Dewey Adamcik, granddaughter Celeste Sullivan and beloved pet Ginger. Bob has left a legacy of love for his children Robert Marks (Karen), Richard Bako, Daniel Bako, Michael Marks (Maura), Linda Ross (Joel), Donald Mullen (Kim), Timothy Mullen (Diane), Mark Mullen (Mary), and Margaret Triglia (Joe), dear nephew John Adamcik (Karen) and his 17 grandchildren who knew him as ‘Pap’; Tamara, Justin, Brooke, Daniel, Wade, Jesse, Timothy ‘Tj’’ (Godson), Mark, Matt, Michael Jr, Brett, Mallory, Brandon(Godson), Mitch, Katelyn, Bradley and Christina. Also 12 great grandchildren; Grant, Ella, Zoey, Maribella, Lily, Brann, Cole, Grant, Aubree, Kaylee, Harley, Penelope  and Lena and dear friend Billy Szott. Bob was a retired steelworker who never really retired. A favorite stop for local flea market shoppers, Bob never knew a stranger, visitors were often eager to just share time with Bobs enigmatic and engaging personality. Bob worked for and enjoyed retirement from both the Carpenters Union and Steelworkers Union. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved being outdoors. Summers were spent with Rosemary and the kids at the cabin he built in Venango County, when fall season in Venango, Bob enjoyed hunting with his sons.  Memories of the traditional Christmas parties and Steeler games will help us to smile and remember as time passes, to enjoy time and life as Bob Bako would do. Bob lived life to its fullest, and showed each of us how to be strong, work hard, and the true meaning of family, love and unity. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, 10:30 AM at St. Louise de Marillac Church, 320 McMurray Rd., Upper St. Clair, PA 15241.  Burial will take place at St. Mark’s Cemetery, McKees Rocks, PA.
