Robert "Bob" J. McKnight
September 25, 1935 - December 31, 2025
Robert “Bob” J. McKnight, of Bethel Park, passed peacefully in Pittsburgh on December 31, 2025.
He was an exceptionally wonderful husband to his wife Jane (Phillips) McKnight for almost 67 years. They married on May 21, 1960.
Bob was a buyer of women’s shoes for Kaufmanns Department Store for 35 years and retired from there at age 55.
After retirement, he decided to take a tax course at H&R Block for his own use. He passed every tax test, and it was noticed by his teacher, he was then recommended to be a tax professional at H&R Block, which expanded 25 years.
Bob was a member of the Bethel Park Lions Club for 25 years, and President of the club from 2005-2006.
Bob and Jane loved to travel; together they visited Ireland, London, Paris, Greece, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Hawaii. They also took other trips to many places in the US, from Maine to Florida, the west coast from Los Angelos to Napa Valley, but their favorite was Williamsburg, Virginia, where they went on their honeymoon and loved it so much that they went twice a year in April and October for many years.
Bob also traveled extensively for his business with Kaufmanns to many places, like Denmark, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, and Brazil, and had many funny and fasincating stories to tell about the people he met.
Bob was the son of the late James and Marie McKnight of Wilkinsburg; and brother to the late Jim (Maura) McKnight.
He leaves behind his wife Jane and is also survived by his niece Maureen Jodkin, many great nieces and nephews, cousins in Ireland and England, and his wife’s family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 4-8pm at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Valentine Catholic Church – Our Lady of Hope, Bethel Park, on January 5, 2026, at 12:30pm. Everyone please meet at church.
Burial will be private in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
