Thomas R. Plunkett Sr., 93, of Bethel Park, went home to be with his Lord on November 26, 2022 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy; his parents Thomas and Josephine Plunkett; his sisters Dorothy, June; his brother William and grandson Joshua. He is survived by his four children Lynn (Ronald), Cathy (Patrick), Thomas (Rebecca) and Kenny; his 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Thomas is a veteran of the Korean war. He joined the armed forces and was assigned to the Army on March 21, 1951. After graduating from the Ord School Apg., Maryland he was assigned to the 538th engineer field maintenance co. apo 301 and deployed to the Korean War as a Corporal. After his discharge from the army, he worked as an optician for 60 years and retired from South Hills Eye Associates. He had a few hobbies which included making and fixing jewelry, playing cards with daughter in law (losing more than he won) avid outdoor hunting and playing the lottery. Thomas will always be remembered as a Loving Father (Daddio), Pap, Great-Pap, loyal friend and brave soldier. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends will be welcomed at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes 5570 Library Road Bethel Park, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Friends of Haiti, PO Box 1441 McMurray, PA 15317.
