Thomas J. “Tom”

Of Bethel Park; age 81; passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023; son of the late John and Mildred Urbanik; beloved husband of 60 years Patty(Mares) Urbanik; loving father of Karen Urbanik, Daniel Urbanik and Sarah (DJ) Gambridge; cherished grandfather of Veronica (Michael) Muzzey, Gabriel, Julian, Ava Grace “Benny”, Colin and Liam Urbanik, Gemma and McKenzie Gambridge; brother of the late William Urbanik; he is also survived by many loving brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, August 7th 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park(Everyone please meet at church). Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  Tom was a graduate of Donora High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Penn State while playing on Penn State’s Football team, then he earned his master’s at Temple University.  He became a dedicated Teacher, Football Coach and Track Coach at Bethel Park High School, where he was department head and earned Teacher of the Year.   He was so encouraging to his family and everyone he knew, he loved to see people succeed.  in lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to American Heart Association, www.heart.org/donate or Disabled Veterans Association, http://help.dav.org
