Donald R (Hendy) Henderson passed quietly with him family around him. Preceded in death by his mother Aline P Henderson and his Father Herbert R Henderson , and Wife of 65 years Sarah E Henderson Survived by his family.Father of three children Libby (Bob), Aland (Miyuki) and Jean-Louise (John) , Grandfather of Brian (Laurel), Casey and Cody and great grand father of Allison. Don was a prize winning photographer in high school and from Eastman-Kodak in Rochester, NY while receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester, where he also won the heart of his wife of 65 years who passed away 13 days before him. Don served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Stationed in San Diego. After serving he went to work for Westinghouse Nuclear Energy Division Moving to and working in Idaho Falls, Idaho being part of the birth of nuclear power. He and the family then moved to Pittsburgh where he was key in developing the reactors in the nuclear submarine navy working at Bettis Laboratories. Later working at Shippingport power plant,developing new technologies. He also was part of the investigation team for theThree Mile Island accident. Don and his wife were original members of Stage 62 south hills community theater starting with the production of "Tea House Of The August Moon". Don served on the Bethel Park School Board, while serving he was the theater consultant of the building of Independence Middle School. After retiring Don and Sally traveled for 25 years in their RV and took cruises to corners of the earth. Don was also a member of the Elks Club and is a member in good standing with Masons Lodge 761 F.A.M. Family and friends will be received Sunday 2-4 &6-8 PM,at Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, 1:30 PM, St. Paul Episcopal Church. Interment private.
